As climate change increasingly affects patterns of disease, mobility, food security, and health-system resilience, understanding its implications for tuberculosis (TB) has become an important research and policy priority. This webinar will show the emerging evidence linking climate-related shocks and stresses to TB risk and outcomes, and discuss how climate change may influence the future trajectory of the global TB epidemic. Through a review of recent evidence, country case studies, and conceptual advances, the session will share the challenges and opportunities of measuring climate impacts on TB, the implications for vulnerable populations, and priorities for strengthening both the evidence base and programmatic response.

Dr. Finn McQuaid, Associate Professor at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine

Finn is a TB modeller at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, with experience in modelling infectious diseases in a range of settings. He is the TB Modelling and Analysis Consortium (TB MAC) Secretariat Epidemiologist, involved in developing guidance and resources for country-level TB modelling to support decision-making, and facilitating coordination between international funders and stakeholders. He is also a member of the TB Modelling Group, researching TB treatment and care (including drug-resistance), and the impact of crises on TB.
