How Primary Care Providers Can Support Immigrant and Refugee TB Clients

Introduction

This webinar is part of the Public Health Agency of Canada’s (PHAC’s) Communicable Diseases and Infection Control (CDIC) Webinar Series and is co-hosted by the National Collaborating Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCCID).

Join us for an insightful webinar designed to empower primary care providers with essential knowledge on supporting immigrant and refugee tuberculosis (TB) clients. Gain valuable insights on the immigration medical exam and TB medical surveillance process for newcomers. An expert panel further explores clinical guidance around identifying appropriate candidates, circumstances for TB screening and testing, highlighting best practices, and dispelling common misconceptions. Key strategies and facilitators for delivering effective care to immigrant and refugee populations are discussed through an interactive Q&A.

By the end of the session, attendees will be better equipped to navigate the complexities of TB detection and diagnosis within immigrant and refugee populations.
