Oscar Niragira

Dr. Oscar Niragira is a physician and Senior Epidemiologist with the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC). He works with the Canadian Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance System (CARSS) team on the development of the CARSS report. His prior experience includes work within PHAC on evidence-based clinical guidelines for sexually transmitted and bloodborne infections, and on healthcare-associated infections. Outside PHAC, Dr. Niragira has contributed to research with the Ottawa Heart Institute and the Bruyere Research Institute. Overseas, Oscar was Medical Coordinator with MSF (Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders) in several countries and has served on the Board of Directors of MSF Canada.
