Dr. Arroyave completed her undergraduate in Health Information Systems in 2013 and earned an MSc in Epidemiology in 2016 from the University of Antioquia, Colombia. She holds a PhD degree in Epidemiology (2017-2021) from the Federal University of Pelotas, Brazil, where she joined the International Center for Equity in Health (ICEH) as a PhD student in 2017. After finishing her PhD, she did her first Postdoctoral Fellowship at the ICEH where she worked and supported projects performing specific analysis of several nationally representative surveys conducted in low- and middle-income countries aimed at reducing health inequalities. In 2022 she joined the NCCID as a Postdoctoral Fellow. She is currently working on a research project that aims to illustrate the importance of conducting disaggregated analyses to identify, measure and monitor health inequalities using administrative, medical records, and registry datasets, presenting the results using knowledge translation approaches. She is also working on a public health surveillance project.
Her research interests are focused on infectious diseases, mainly tuberculosis and HIV; global maternal and child health, mainly antenatal care and neonatal mortality; and Equity in Health as a transversal topic in her academic and research interests.
