Dr. Ameeta Singh is a clinical professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Alberta. Her research focuses on sexually transmitted infections and HIV, particularly guideline development, program evaluation, prevention and rapid testing. She was the Alberta provincial consultant for sexually transmitted and blood borne infections (STBBI) from 1998 to 2008, and the Medical Director of the Edmonton STI Clinic from 1998 to 2014. She served as an HIV consultant for federal corrections at the Edmonton Institution for Women from 2000-2017. She maintains a general infectious diseases practice at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton and an HIV/STI outpatient practice at the Edmonton STI Clinic. She has also served as a consultant to the Government of Nunavut since 2017.
