Trained in infectious diseases and epidemiology, David Patrick, MD, FRCPC, MHSc, is the director of the School of Population and Public Health at the University of British Columbia. His research interests focus on interdisciplinary approaches to managing emerging infectious diseases, such as the institution and evaluation of programs to control antimicrobial misuse and curb antibiotic resistance, and linking clinical, epidemiological and genomic sciences to explore etiology of idiopathic chronic diseases.
