Publication Summary

This guide is part of a three-part series developed by the Knowledge Mobilization Hub in partnership with Birchbark Collaborative to support Research Teams working with First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities and organizations. It introduces cultural safety and cultural humility in health research and provides practical considerations for addressing power imbalances, supporting self-reflection and ongoing learning, and fostering research environments free from racism and discrimination. It also explores strengths- and distinctions-based approaches and trauma- and violence-informed research.
