Synopsis
This presentation will outline the Anishinaabe understanding of M’no bimaadziwin. Anishinaabe is the word in our language to name ourselves. M’no bimaadziwin is the concept of living well. It will explore the inter-relationships that encompass living well, and describe the effect of colonization and dispossession on M’no bimaadziwin. It will also highlight initiatives, activities, services and programs that can point to a future of recovery, reconciliation, and restitution.
Learning Objectives:
1. Participants will be able to describe an Anishinaabe view of living well.
2. Participants will be able to synopsize the effects of colonization and homelessness on the health of Indigenous women.
3. Participants will be able to outline the purpose of public health initiatives as they impact Indigenous women.
